Malvern Courtyard Pool

Design Brief:

The clients had just purchased this property in Malvern when they called Neptune. The house had all of the features that they wanted except for a concrete swimming pool. Most of the land was already used except for a small overgrown courtyard area between the house and the tennis court. Their initial thoughts were the area might be too small. They ultimately wanted a pool that was elegant and functional. It was to provide for relaxation and fun.

Summary:

This pool makes a statement and provides the clients with all of the features they were after. The space has been maximized with clever design, and what was a dark overgrown area of the property now has an abundance of light and space.

The pool provides a link from the house to the tennis court. Some key features that were installed were the stone and rendered walls. The stone wall is only 400mm high from the pool terrace area which allows you to look over the rest of the yard, however is 1200mm from the tennis court and complies as a pool fence.

The rendered wall on the boundary helps to screen off the adjoining property while also providing a nice backdrop for the pool and water feature.

The pool has a large underwater seat for lazing in the sun, adjacent to the raised spa, with large spillway into the pool. The ocean blue tile provides for a stunning contrast between the pool and paving.
