Designing a new home, the clients were looking for a pool that would compliment their modern and contemporary features.
With a ‘Lautner style’ wet edge design, the water level and coping appear to be flush, with the excess water spilling into a gutter below the paving, then recycled back into the pool. This creates a neat finish and clean lines fit with the modern design of the home.
This pool includes a shallow beach entry at one end that provides an easy entry point and a platform for kids to play on or for adults to sit easily and relax. A steel blue ceramic tile was laid to make the water shine a grey, blue colour that incorporates the tones of the home with the design of the pool.
The main feature of this design is the spa that is in the corner of the pool. With two infinity edges spilling into the pool and the others sitting against a feature wall. The cement finish creates the perfect backdrop for the mix of Bisazza Rachelle black metallic tiles and makes the spa stand out against the other textures such as the pool and back fence.
A floating bridge that is connected to the side paving provides access to the spa. Suspending the bridge above the water is not only a functional benefit, but also adds to the design. The bridge is multifunctional and provides a direct entry point to the spa or can be used to sit on or enter the pool.
A fully automated and self cleaning system, which can be operated by a smartphone app provides easy maintenance for the client.
