A low-maintenance, yet stunning pool to complement the outdoor area and home.
Our clients approached us to design a pool for them that was to be for family entertaining, easy to maintain and a showcase within the courtyard sitting between the new extension and existing heritage building.
The swimming pool was to be constructed with an adjoining spa abutting a heritage listed building. The existing building had bluestone footings, which required careful excavation in order to ensure they were protected. A separate pond was added adjacent to the spa to provide a natural break between the new and old buildings.
A 6m x 4m pool with adjoining spa was designed to fit neatly into the space. A fish pond was added next to the spa. The modern extension is connected to the existing building by an internal bridge with glass floor spanning the fish pond.
To be sympathetic to the existing building and compliment the modern extension neutral colours were chosen for the finishes. These included bluestone coping and paving with a white fully tiled pool interior. The pool colour changes throughout the day with reflected sunlight being a natural blue through to a striking iridescent blue light at night.
A full-length underwater seat was added to one side of the pool to allow the clients an area for relaxation and sunbathing.
The pool has all of our regular low maintenance features to ensure that it is to use including fully tiling, Paramount PCC2000 infloor cleaning, Gemini Water Management and automatic leveling.
